- functorThe functor to evaluate
C++ Type:MooseFunctorName
Controllable:No
Description:The functor to evaluate
- variableThe name of the variable that this object applies to
C++ Type:AuxVariableName
Controllable:No
Description:The name of the variable that this object applies to
FunctorElementalGradientAux
Evaluates the gradient of a functor (variable, function or functor material property) on the current element or quadrature point.
Overview
This AuxKernel
outputs a vector AuxVariable
given by scaling the gradient of a functor scaled by a material property and/or another functor.
This AuxVariable
is used to linearize a nonlinear material property in the adjoint equation.
Example Input File Syntax
The use of this AuxKernel
to compute the adjoint for a temperature dependent material is shown in this example:
[AuxKernels]
[dDdTgradT]
type = ADFunctorElementalGradientAux
functor = forwardT
variable = dDdTgradT
factor_matprop = 'dDdT'
[]
[]
(../moose/modules/combined/test/tests/invOpt_nonlinear/adjoint.i)where the AuxVariable
dDdTgradT is defined as a constant monomial vector:
[dDdTgradT]
order = CONSTANT
family = MONOMIAL_VEC
[]
(../moose/modules/combined/test/tests/invOpt_nonlinear/adjoint.i)In this example, "factor_matprop" is the tangent modulus of the temperature dependent thermal conductivity. FunctorElementalGradientAux
provides an advection velocity in the adjoint problem solved by the LevelSetAdvection
kernel. For Hessian based inversion, FunctorElementalGradientAux
provides the advection velocity to the ConservativeAdvection
kernel.
Input Parameters
- blockThe list of blocks (ids or names) that this object will be applied
C++ Type:std::vector<SubdomainName>
Controllable:No
Description:The list of blocks (ids or names) that this object will be applied
- boundaryThe list of boundaries (ids or names) from the mesh where this object applies
C++ Type:std::vector<BoundaryName>
Controllable:No
Description:The list of boundaries (ids or names) from the mesh where this object applies
- check_boundary_restrictedTrueWhether to check for multiple element sides on the boundary in the case of a boundary restricted, element aux variable.
